Have a SPLASHTASTIC school  holidays   with our Summer    Holidays  Kids Kayaking Camp    Geelong!

Our Summer Holidays Kids Kayaking Camp offers a fun, memorable experience for kids aged 8-16. Just choose from January 6 to 10 or January 13 to 17 to give your kids a summer to remember,​ From Monday to Friday, 9 am to 12 pm, kids can join in the adventure and enjoy making new friends and learning a variety of awesome paddling skills. With a ratio of 1:8 instructor to students, we guarantee a safe and enjoyable environment for all of our participants.

With groups for different skill levels/ages all young paddlers whether complete beginners or more experienced are welcome. 

The Program 

Monday

Join us at 9 am to meet your instructor and fellow paddlers. We'll start with a safety briefing before hitting the water. You'll learn kayaking skills hop off the water for morning tea and then consolidate your new skills by playing fun on the water games!

Tuesday - Thursday

Each group will spend one morning between Tuesday and Thursday on each of the following activities:

  • Safety and Rescue training. Learn to throw a throw bag, capsize your craft and rescue yourself and how to help your friends get back into their kayak if they fall off.

  • Canoe polo. Master the art of throwing and catching a ball while in your kayak! Finish the morning off with a game of canoe polo and see who can score the most goals.

  • Expedition. Put yourself to the test and kayak at least 5km to a picnic spot for morning tea and back, find out all about the river environment from your instructor.

Friday

Finish the week off by showing off all your new kayaking skills in a friendly kayaking competition.

What to bring

  • Clothes you don't mind getting wet and that don't absorb water e.g. active wear or wetsuit

  • A warm layer to wear on the water if needed e.g. fleece, water proof jacket

  • Water bottle

  • Full change of clothes

  • Towel

  • Any personal medication needed

  • Closed toed shoes for the expedition day
